New American Paintings Past Featured Artists In Miami
Visiting the art fairs throughout the year is exciting because we see so many familiar names. A majority of artists that have appeared in New American Paintings have gone on to have extremely successful careers. One barometer of success is making an appearance at one of the fairs in Miami. We already mentioned our favorite fairs, well now we have compiled a list of artists that have been in our publication and will appear in a Miami art fair this year. It's overwhelming to be reminded of how many amazing artists that we have worked with in the past. We hope you take note and look for their work.

New American Paintings Guide To Miami 2012
It's hard to believe it’s that time of year again...In one week we are headed to Miami for Art Basel and other shenanigans. Another year, another list! We’ve put this post together to highlight some of our favorite fairs to check out while in Miami, if you are fortunate enough to make it. We are especially looking forward to UNTITLED and MIAMI PROJECT, two newcomers to the Miami scene that we hope can make an impact on the annual art-a-thon.

Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth
I recently went back home to Kansas City and documented my favorite spots to see contemporary art while visiting. This past weekend I traveled west again, this time to Fort Worth, Texas. My trip was short so right after landing I drove directly to the the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. I had heard great things about the building and collection, both of which ended up meeting expectations.

Social Practice: A Q&A with Laura Hudson
Laura Hudson (NAP #99) has been getting out of the studio. The Baltimore-based painter organizes participatory events, documents them on video, then culls her compositions from the nuanced moments hidden in the hours of footage. For her latest project Laura organized a sleepover at the Arlington Arts Center in suburban Washington, DC. The event was meant to be a sentimental throwback to the days of slumber parties -- the artist and 15 of her friends ate junk food, chatted, and played cards all night before nodding off into sleeping bags.

Gallerist at Home: Joshua Liner
Just four years ago, Joshua Liner Gallery opened its doors in New York’s Chelsea District. After Superstorm Sandy hit Chelsea’s gallery row particularly hard, I am pleased to report that owner and director Joshua Liner opened their current show Tiffany Bozic's "Transformation” only a week behind schedule. - Ellen C. More than forty New American Paintings’ alumni are on view this month throughout the country. They range from mid-career painter, Trenton Doyle Hancock, to 2010 Hunter MFA grad Michael Hilsman, who is having his first solo exhibition this month at Louis B. James in New York City. The San Francisco area alone has six New American Paintings artists on view including Jim Gaylord at Gregory Lind and Conrad Ruiz at Jessica Silverman. If you love painting and live in San Francisco then you are lucky, as there are an extraordinary range of shows on view this month.
