Artist Statement

My work pulls from several disciplines including graphic design, craft, and paint-ing. I suppose I maintain a strong faith in the capacity of form to create narrative.

A primary goal of the work is to challenge or disrupt notions of dimension, as well as the grid. Line, shape, pattern, and composition, all hallmarks of design, are integral to my current practice. I am reminded of the saying in literary circles, “Write what you know;” and my background in design continues to inform my work.
