What began as a mark-making experiment has grown into a self-reflective journey for me. In masses of people, figurative details are purposefully omitted to place the emphasis on unity and movement. The translucence of watercolor allows me to create myriad layers and give depth to a previously two-dimensional surface. As I create, I find myself wondering where the next destination lies. In my open-ended quest to interpret the subject of human migration, the destination is secondary to the journey.
