Artist Statement

I am interested in art making as a means of embodying nature’s process of chance, change, and growth. My aim is to paint how it feels to be in nature, connected to something outside of ourselves and the confines of life’s everyday structures.

My recent work focuses on terrain, division, and suggestion as visual framework for explorations into the concurrent nature of structure and temporality, fullness and emptiness, awareness and unconsciousness, limitation and possibility, and the present and what’s next.
