I use the tactile qualities of oil paint to combine highly sensual surfaces with subtle, multi-referential imagery. The shapes allude to letters, bodies, and gravity, and resist singular interpretation. Parts of the paintings appear and disappear as you walk around them, due to their shifting relationship to light. My driving concern is the achievement of accuracy to the sensorial experience within the flicker of one’s own intellectual, emotional, and material perception.
