ìI believe that there is a subtle magnetism in Nature, which, if we unconsciously yield to it, will direct us aright.
- Henry David Thoreau The concept of the journey is the main thread of my work and it begins with creating anatomies of nature. Duality plays a role and a battle between landscape and cityscape ensues. The paintings create civilizations that explore order and chaos, arriving and departing. Cycles between realities are mapped and boundaries become delineated. The work is about having a journey without an end. Fragments of memories are composed from my environments and translated into a convergence upon the surface. Layers in turn create a sensuous history. The journey is further articulated in the archaeology of the painting by the tracking of these spaces through the void of life. In the end, it is all a manifestation of myself and it becomes an ambiguous space.
