Artist Statement

My body of work is informed by a curiosity of disparate worldviews and by questioning those of my own. I often think of myself as an anthropologist observing human behaviors, studying the past, and uncovering patterns. In the process, it all inevitably leads me to have broader questions about my Catholic upbringing and mortality. Although I never discovered any answers, I often find absurdity and humor along the journey, which becomes the basis for much of my work. I use painting as a method to document these thoughts and realizations.
