I am fascinated by the western landscape, its mythology of
transcendence, openness, and expansion.
In researching certain sites of interest, there are diversions, many
drawings, and wrong turns.
I am compelled to make paintings about these places, paintings
that resonate in the mind and require some time to reveal their
effect.
