Artist Statement

I tell stories. Often they are a way of communicating what is permeating my imagination. It is a type of escapism but also a way of seeing what is important to me.

Like most intuition-absorbed practitioners, I see knowing and description as complicated and subjective. That said, the works that move me most are representational: Constable, Watteau, Chardin are in some way my thin line.

Abstraction feels like a troubled cousin. It’s a tenuous relationship. Abstraction is the beginning, in the caves. And much more attuned to intuition. So, it is the punk home.
