From a perspective in motion, I capture images that reflect a spontaneous event. My paintings appear fresh and simply made, but they involve many processes and choices. I combine external and invented realities by layering images in multiple materials. In the case of larger, veiled images on canvas, meticulously built of layers of oil paint, the most exciting part for me comes when I paint into the canvas, feeling the experience from memory. What seems real merges with an imagined perspective, leading viewers to a moment of either deception or euphoria.
