My paintings feature symbolic imagery composed of malleable, humanmade objects and materials. The intentional arrangement of these forms are constructive for understanding my emotions and subconscious processes. Throughout my creative practice, I alternate between my imagination and observations as references for depicting and arranging objects. Exploring the relationship between my inner and outer perceptions has also led me to contemplate the interrelatedness of subject and object.
With my recent work, I am exploring themes of self-compassion, vulnerability, and interconnection, which are represented by soft and adaptable forms in various relationships. My creative practice itself has become a testament to the easing of my critical nature and the softening of rigid beliefs and self-imposed limitations. Repeatedly, I find that in everyday life and in the studio, acceptance of what is happening here and now helps guide my process forward.
