My artwork is informed by the shifting and temporal nature of
my surroundings and the traces that are left as time passes.
Specifically, I am interested in moments and sensations that are
not fully understood because they are so fleetingly glimpsed or
experienced.
I explore these ephemeral qualities in pieces that remove the
borders between painting, drawing, and sculpture to offer
different perspectives on experience. I am especially curious
about how the nuances of material touch can act as a point of
exchange between the artist and the viewer to alter the perception
of an artwork.
I consider each work to be a small piece of a memory. Similar to
the process of remembering, within the experience of the artwork
each form, mark, or color comes to the foreground to exist briefly
before dissolving. Each painted mark or folded crease suggests
an action that has already occurred, whose memory lingers in its
residue.
