My work is essentially an exploration of structure, color, and
process combined with tension between format and image. I often
employ simple systems to facilitate the discovery of new formal
combinations where unexpected results are embraced.
While I work, I listen to audio books. Even though this doesn’t
have a direct correlation to image production, it does get me
thinking about networks. Over time, the many stories and ideas
interweave and become a grand combined narrative that then
becomes associated with the imagery. What forms is a network
in which people, ideas, places, and things across time and space
become connected. The result is a long-distance view of the
human condition in which life and experience, story and image,
become layered and compressed.
