Artist Statement

I have conflicting feelings about the cell towers, radio towers and cranes that speckle landscapes from coast to coast. On the one hand, they are beautiful structures, architectural and open. Their unnaturalness on the landscape makes them stand out like giant metal figures. On the other hand, they symbolize the rapid growth, overdevelopment and technological changes occurring across the country. My images explore this peculiar appeal of the towers and cranes as they rise out of ambiguous settings.
