Real experience is rapidly being replaced by two-dimensional
artifice. This increasingly jeopardizes our relationship with factual
narrative. My interest lies in the exploration of the intersection
between the object and pictorial illusion. On first encounter, my
work reads as fabricated, but on closer investigation it becomes
clear that the visual strength of its “objectness” is compromised
by mark-making. While familiar in materiality and shape, my work
displays attributes that are visually discordant and nonspecific.
The works are momentary portraits of systems in flux.
