Artist Statement
My work is autobiographical. I reinterpret stories and images
from my life as drawings on paper. I make drawings to avoid the
history of painting. My hope is that the images I make stand as
reflections on my personal history, but also communicate a sense
of the deteriorating working class that is my background, the
dangerously fervent religious climate from which I come, and the
crisis in the medical community in which I now exist.
