Artist Statement

This visual feast is a dark satire focused on political and historical events that have dictated how societies function. The method in my current body of work, Horror Vacui, is spontaneous and direct. I work best by allowing my subconscious to roam and freely manifest itself. The pens serve as sweeping brooms illustrating my thinking process. The results are often ambiguous narratives that are familiar, but very exaggerated.

These exaggerations help build a wonderland radiating paranoia. As the drawings evolve, they act like an untreated wound, growing and devouring the space with meticulous details of information. My intention is that these dimensions seize and maintain the viewer’s attention. These works take a critical look at the slippery slope we as a society are comfortably falling down. I raise the question, how far is too far?
