My paintings encourage a conversational experience by acknowledging that everyone perceives the world differently. I depict elements of daily life, such as landscapes, common objects, and faces. Each painting employs a continuous line drawing technique to capture the immediacy of a single moment. Color is then used to create depth and distort perception. The resulting two-dimensional abstract forms work together to depict a representational scene that allows for alternate interpretations. This abstraction encourages the individual's imagination to continuously re-evaluate the subject of the painting. In producing these works, I try to convey the complexity in people's understanding of their surroundings.
