I have aimed to paint something that was nothing‚ and vice versa. In hair, I have found it, that instant between states when a connection from the body mingles with vapor and amorphous weight.
In the passage between forms there is a possibility of nothingness where something new may arise. A moment of nothingness is an absolute trauma where the stripping of self and context may leave us. Vulnerability and disorientation are the currency of new vision.
These beasts-of-myself are portraits of being in one’s own way, or the rare heroism of birthing a free self out the canal of obligation.
