Artist Statement
I make work that explores the intersection of the formal aspects
of the media I use and the qualities of the surrounding space.
I often use painted and dyed fabrics that function like nets to
capture and manipulate light and color. These experiential works
are often combined with objects or surfaces that invite viewers to
interact with the works in space. My painting process intertwines
performance, installation, sculpture, and architecture. It relies
on “variable legibilities.” I want my work to have a direct presence,
to excite the eye, and to heighten awareness.
