My work exists between painting styles. I create paintings that contain elements of seduction and destruction. My ideas are based on mass information, and this idea is important to my work because, the more complicated, unfamiliar, and inconclusive the more successful the painting. When I am in the studio I am focused on how I process information and how I follow or break rules that I have given myself. Through this method I put myself at risk of making a bad painting, and a destructive quality is maintained through this.
My work has developed from representation to abstraction. Currently I experiment with paintings that contain more labor intensive techniques along with abstraction.
